FOURTH PROGRESS REPORT ON A PROJECT FUNCTIONAL INK-JET PRINTING OF WIRELESS ENERGY SYSTEMS

“Lesla Latvia” is continuing the research project “Functional Ink-Jet Printing of Wireless Energy Systems”. During the period since the last progress update the company is continuing working on the development of a large area wireless energy transmission system. The development of a transmitter of a wide areas WPT transmitter more suitable for the intended commercial purposes was continued within this quarter and the experimental model of the large-area two-wire charging system was developed.

The further research in the next project quarters will be carried out regarding the transmission frequencies and  possible increase of the transmission power. The research will  be linked to the electric parameters which will be obtained from printed electronics activities, to build a compatible wireless power transfer system.

About the project:

The main goal of this project is a development and demonstration of the ink-jet technology that will be able to print wearable and flexible functional electronic devices, including the inductive antenna, capable of capturing electrical energy in the kilohertz range and feeding printed electroluminescent light-emitting devices implemented as 2D drawings. The main result of the project is the development of the ink-jet printed prototype of a light-emitting device coupled with a wireless energy-receiving antenna.

The proposed Industrial research project is implemented by the Institute of Solid State Physics, University of Latvia (ISSP UL) and LESLA LATVIA company. This interdisciplinary project consists of the research activities in Physical (1.3) and Chemical (1.4) sciences, Electrical engineering, electronics, information and communication technologies (2.2), Materials science (2.5) and Nanotechnology (2.10), according to the OECD Frascati Manual.

The total cost of the project is 539594.38 EUR (57.3% LU CFI and 42.7% LESLA LATVIA) ERDF contribution, with the EU investment of 500000 EUR (92.5%).

Ceturtais progresa ziņojums Drukātās elektronikas enerģijas pārraides sistēmas izstrādes projektā.

Uzņēmums “Lesla Latvija” veiksmīgi turpina darbību pētniecības projektā “Functional Ink-Jet Printing of Wireless Energy Systems”.
