The Second Progress Report on a Wireless Charging Solution for a Sustainable Heating of the Public Electric Transport

“Lesla Latvia” has successfully completed the third quarter (01.12.2019-29.02.2020) in the research project “Development of a sustainable heating solution for the salon of the public electric transport”.

During this time, the company has researched the operation of a prototype of the wireless charging generator device and has begun preparing scientific articles for publication at peer-reviewed conferences for this summer.  A delay of the material supplies for the project has been noted in connection with Corona virus in China and Europe. The company has carried out the procurement of the research partner for social research to ensure that the technical performance of the project meets functionally and conceptually, the future requirements of users. The contract has been signed with Baltic Open Solutions Centre – a research organisation, with extensive experience in international multiparter EU research project management.

About the project:

The goal of the project is to develop an ecologically sustainable heating solution for public electric transport by using heat accumulators.  The new technology will allow the heating of public electrical bus without relying on fossil fuel or extended battery capacity. Heat energy is to be stored in heat accumulators and renewed by wireless charging during stops. The project is being run by the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LLU) in partnership with eMobility and Lesla Latvia.

The project was started on July 1 2019 and is planned to be finished by May, 2021.

The project is co-financed by European Regional Development Fund Project identification number is: 1.1.1.1/18/A/168

Projekta identifikācijas numurs ir: 1.1.1.1/18/A/168
