Research Projects

Research on development of wireless charging system and its
management for industrial service robots.

On January 1, 2017 “Lesla Latvia” has started research project “Research on development of
wireless charging system and its management for industrial service robots”. The project is co-
financed by European Regional Development Fund under dedicated Competency Center support
initiative Project identification number is: 1.2.1.1/16/A/003. Research activities are carried out
within “Competency center of transport and machine building” in co-operation with company
“TransfoElectric”.
The goal of the project is to carry out studies of mobile service robotic charging technologies and
to create a wireless dynamic charging system model that would be used in the operation of
industrial service robotics to increase their efficiency and widespread distribution.
It is planned to carry out research on various robotics charging solutions, their efficiency and
problems, to develop power transfer and transformation techniques to maximize the efficiency of
wireless dynamic charging as well as to increase battery life of the robot.
Lesla Latvia tasks also include system modelling and development of charging cell matrix to
provide energy transfer to the receiving robots.
